Healthy Post-Workout Snacks

Remember to refuel after a workout! Here are some of our favorite go-to snacks.

The key to a healthy post-workout or post-run snack is a combination of carbohydrates and protein. Both whole-grain bread and ricotta cheese contain protein and carbs. 

It's not only affordable and delicious, but it also just so happens to have an ideal ratio of carbohydrates to protein.

It's a favorite combination, and not just because it's good. Bananas are loaded with easy-to-digest carbs and B6 vitamins, which help manage protein metabolism.

Slices of apples provide energy replenishment while cheese offers protein and calcium. And the nuts aren't just for flavor, they're full of healthy fats. Opt for walnuts if you want a small dose of omega-3s.

Protein is the fuel that drives an athlete. With twice as much protein as regular yogurt, Greek yogurt is an easy choice. One 6-ounce container of Greek yogurt provides up to 17 grams of protein.
